WHAT: Evidence Technician Basic Course

WHERE: CAMP GRAYLING, MICHIGAN

WHEN: 16-25 MAY 2022 (Week #1 Monday 16th-Thursday 19th & Week #2 Monday 23rd-Wednesday 25th)

This course will teach an understanding of the fundamental theories of physical evidence, practical applications and the legal considerations involved in its collection, preservation and presentation in court. This is a seven-day (7) course over two weeks that will include class room presentations, inside/outside applications and proficiency testing.

Instructors: NMLETG has partnered with the Michigan State Police Forensic Laboratories for all instructors to include Subject Matter Experts (SME) in latent prints, controlled substances, crime scene response/control, firearms, tool marks and trace evidence.

NMLETG TRAINING OBJECTIVE: To provide world-class, cost effective and standardized training.

Prerequisites: None

Class Size: 15 Student minimum; 25 Student maximum.

Material/ Equipment: Each student must review the welcome letter prior to attending the course for any special instructions from MSP Lab personnel. Course Training Material/Equipment will be provided at no additional cost; Agency responsible to provide Department Evidence Kits.

Cost: NMLETG Member Agencies: $200 per student; Non-Member Agencies: $300 per student. Tuition includes daily lunch for each student every day.
