About the event
This course will update Michigan Police Officers on the Michigan Medical Examiner Statute and the various ways the Death Investigations are occurring throughout Michigan. An Officers role, responsibilities and requirements and how they must communicate, cooperate and coordinate with their local Medical Examiner so that the Death Investigation is comprehensive, complete and well-documented. A Basic Officer Checklist will be explained. This course is NOT designed to change the manner in which each county handles this responsibility, but rather inform investigators of a range possibilities; there will be opportunities for questions.
The course will be held at the Camp Grayling Army Airfield (GAAF) Classroom. Agencies should reserve seating as soon as possible; seats will be assigned on a first come, first served basis.
Class Size: Maximum 40 Officers per session.
